The 8th and 9th U.S American has passed while in the Dominican Republic.
Leyla Cox, a US tourist who died while staying in a Dominican Republic hotel, is the eighth American to die in the country this year.
A New Jersey man, Joseph Allen (the 9th person), was staying at Terra Linda Resort in Sosua last week with friends. His friends said that he was complaining about being hot at the pool. The friends then said that he went to lie down for the night, then was found dead the following day. is at least the ninth person to die while on vacation in the DR.
As of now, there have been at least nine Americans have died in the Dominican Republic in the last 12 months. Autopsies concluded that most died of respiratory problems or a heart attack.
