The NBA is in “exploratory” talks with The Walt Disney Co. to possibly restart its season at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida in late July.

The restart would be at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, which would act as “a single site … for games, practices and housing,” league spokesman Mike Bass said.

“Our priority continues to be the health and safety of all involved, and we are working with public health experts and government officials on a comprehensive set of guidelines to ensure that appropriate medical protocols and protections are in place,” Bass said in a statement.

Disney confirmed Bass’ remarks, saying it “has a great, long-standing relationship with the NBA.”

“We are engaged in conversations with them about completing the 2019-2020 season at the ESPN Wide World of Sports at Walt Disney World Resort,” the company said in a statement.

The NBA suspended its season on March 11 due to the coronavirus pandemic, with about a month remaining playoffs were set to begin.

The suspension came after Utah Jazz player Rudy Gobert tested positive for the virus.

The Walt Disney World Resort started a phased reopening on Wednesday after Disney Springs began operations in Florida with certain restrictions and “enhanced health and safety measures.”

“Other areas of Walt Disney World Resort remain closed, including theme parks and Disney Resort hotels,” according to the company’s website.
