PEOPLE DIE, BUT LEGENDS LIVE FOREVER ~ TUPAC
There are reports that there will be a new documentary series about Tupac Shakur.
Director Allen Hughes has made a deal with the Shakur Estate to to direct and executive produce, alongside Lasse Järvi and Charles D. King, a five-part documentary series. Hughes now has access to all of Tupac’s released and unreleased recordings, writings and poetry for the use of the documentary. The documentary will be a follow-up project to the HBO docuseries The Defiant Ones, on Jimmy Iovine and Dr. Dre. A rep for the estate confirmed the deal and describe the documentary as an aim to be the first definitive, comprehensive project on Shakur with the full cooperation of the estate.
Hughes has worked with Tupac before, in the early 1990s. He actually directed a video (with his brother, Albert Hughes) for the rapper’s early hit “Brenda’s Got a Baby.”
