Lauren London expects that her 2-year-old son with Nipsey Hussle will inherit $1 million from the late rapper’s estate, and she has filed documents to make sure she she has a say in legal matters involving the estate, The Blast is reporting.

The actress, 34, writes in the documents that she is Kross Asghedom’s caregiver and will look out for his “best interests” as he receives his inheritance from his father, who was gunned down March 31 outside his South Los Angeles clothing store.

London’s court filing comes as Hussle’s family has been trying to work out how to manage his estate, which is valued at $2 million, according to reports. Because the rapper and entrepreneur died before executing a will, it is expected that his two minor children — Kross and his 10-year-old daughter, Emani Asghedom — will share equally in the estate, TMZ reported previously.

But the issue is complicated by an ongoing dispute over custody of Emani. Hussle’s family members have gone to court to allege that Emani’s mother, Tanisha Foster, is an unfit parent who cannot provide a stable environment for the girl. Samantha Smith, Hussle’s sister, is seeking to become Emani’s guardian, claiming that she was helping to raise her before her brother was killed.

But Foster, who was Hussle’s girlfriend before he began dating London five years ago, is fighting Smith’s guardianship petition. Emani currently is living with Smith; the court gave her custody last month, TMZ reported. Another court hearing on the guardianship question is scheduled for this month.

The legal fight over who raises Kross and Emani is tied up in how the estate is managed.

Whoever has custody conceivably could ask the estate to pay child support or give the surviving parent or guardian access to trust funds that Hussle reportedly set up for Emani and for Kross. The Blast said London also wants to make sure her son’s interests are legally protected.

Hussle’s family reportedly is on good terms with London. Last month, London also shared an image of her with Kross, as if to underscore her commitment to Hussle’s memory and to looking out for what’s best for their son.
