Google Celebrates ‘The Most Searched’ to Set the Stage for Black History Month

During Sunday’s Grammy Awards, Google intensely showed that it’s capable.

In an advertisement declaring a Black History Month project called “The Most Searched,” Google raised the bar on a portion of its searched information, going back as far as 15 years to show how many African Americans have dominated public fascination, admiration, and curiosity on the internet.

On an accompanying site, Google clarifies the approach behind the advertisement and offers links to assist guests with becoming familiar with the individuals and developments included in the advertisement, alongside a few that weren’t.

The title of “most searched” was given to every individual, group or cause that had been searched for more regularly than some other in the category, per Google Trends, since Jan. 1, 2004, which Google says is the furthest back its U.S. search information can go.
