Offset is trying out his acting skills once again.
After making his acting debut in “NCIS Los Angeles” earlier this year, he’s kicking things up and notch and has secured a lead role in STXfilms’ American Sole. He will star opposite Pete Davidson and O’Shea Jackson Jr. Offset will also take on an executive producer role for the soundtrack and is set to play a witty computer engineer. The film tells the story of two guys with massive student loans (Pete Davidson and O’Shea Jackson) who re-sell sneakers to make money
Offset said of the movie:
“This is my first feature film as an actor. After doing NCIS, I knew I wanted to do more acting. Landing this role in American Sole is dope. Not only do I get to star in the movie, but I get to bring my skills to the table as the curator and executive producer for the soundtrack. I’m bringing my world to the big screen. I hope the world is ready.”

“When I do things on TV or I have to act I tell them to give me the role that they already don’t think — I don’t want to be the gangster, I don’t want to be plug, I don’t want to be the shooter. I want to be the Scientist, or somebody cleaning the shoes.”
Adam Fogelson, chairman of STXfilms Motion Picture Group added:
“To have Offset joining our team is a dream scenario. Offset’s character is important to the storyline and we couldn’t be more excited to have him working with us behind the scenes as he works with Ian and the team at STX to help us define the sound of this film. We could not be in better hands.”
The all-star team also includes Kevin Hart, who’s producing the movie via his HartBeat production company, along with Jake Stein of Scondo Productions and Chris Paul’s his Ohh Dip!!!, marking the NBA star’s first film. Bryan Smiley of HartBeat will executive produce the film with STXfilms’ Drew Simon and Patricia Braga.
What are your thoughts on him in his new ventures?
