Nathan was first reported missing early Tuesday, February 3, when he reportedly left his home in Milton, Georgia, on foot at about 6 a.m. without his phone and was believed to be disoriented — sparking serious concern from his family and friends.
An extensive search effort by local law enforcement began immediately, with authorities and community members looking for any sign of him. That search culminated on Friday, February 6, when Divers from the Cherokee County Fire Department recovered a body from a pond in Mayfield Park near his residence. The Milton Police Department later announced that the remains are believed to be Nathan’s, though official identification and the cause and manner of death are still pending confirmation from the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Officials have stated that currently there is no indication of foul play, although the investigation remains ongoing.

In a statement shared publicly, Lil Jon and Nathan’s mother, Nicole Smith, described their son as “the kindest human being you would ever meet,” full of thoughtfulness, passion, and warmth for those closest to him. Nathan was more than the child of a famous artist — he was a talented music producer, DJ, and engineer, and also a graduate of New York University.
