Chance The Rapper cancels his tour. More details inside…

Chance The Rapper took to Instagram to share with his fans on why he decided to cancel the ‘Big Tour’. However, three months ago the Chicago native postponed most of the dates scheduled on his tour. Fans are speculating that his tickets sales were down as a result of him canceling the tour. In an Instagram post, the rapper blamed the cancellation on a desire to be with his family. “Hey guys I’ve decided to cancel the Big Tour,” he wrote. “I know it sucks and its been a lot of back and forth with reschedules and rerouting, but it’s for the best. I’m gonna take this time to be with family, make some new music and develop my best show to date.”

Yet, in the music business, it’s an article of faith that tours are never dropped in any way, shape or form other than low ticket deals. “One of two things is going on,” says George Howard, a teacher of Music Business/Management at Berklee College of Music and a previous record label president. “It is possible that he truly needs to invest energy with the family, and anyone who is a parent realizes that is an undeniable thing or ticket deals aren’t extraordinary. At the point when ticket deals are going extraordinary, you figure out how to take the family out and about, and when they’re not, family can be an advantageous reason.”
