The prices for items at MoneyBagg Yo’s new restaurant, Cach’e 42 Kitchen and Cocktails, are dividing fans on social media. The rapper opened the venue in his hometown of Memphis at the end of March. Controversially, the 40oz Tomahawk Steak runs patrons $135 and comes with no sides.
“MoneyBagg Yo restaurante so man high!! Do he not remember when he was starving in them apartments?? BFFR [two cry laughing emojis],” one person wrote, as noted by Neighborhood Talk. Another argued that if the steak is high enough quality, then it’s worth the price. “The price ain’t the issue,” they wrote. “It’s what quality of food imma get for that price cause ion trust moneybagg to cook me a $135 steak.” One more joked, “Moneybagg want $100 for a steak, I’ll pay that and he better come out and rap.”
As for the quality of the steak, one fan argued that tomahawk steaks are generally more expensive. “idk why y’all are complaining about @MoneyBaggYo prices for steak at his restaurant. he’s selling 40 oz tomahawk steak,” they wrote. “and y’all know y’all are gonna hop on the bandwagon and wanna be going to his restaurant and bragging like y’all have money for the same steak.”
Another user on Twitter wants MoneyBagg Yo to bring his restaurant to more cities. “Bagg bring your restaurant #Cache42 to DC and I guarantee you mfers gon walk in that bitch & blow a bag. One thing about us we love restaurants with good food and a good vibe. Open a 2nd location here. Then it’s black owned so I know y’all seasoning the food right.”
After the grand opening, the restaurant’s Instagram page posted, “Memphis, thank you all so much for coming out to support our grand opening! “We are officially open to provide an elevated dining experience at @cache42memphis by @moneybaggyo! & yes, we are kid friendly!” The aforementioned $135 steak is described on the menu as being the “highest quality proteins grilled up to perfection.”
