The Golden State Warriors hosted All-Star Weekend for the first time since 2000! This year’s events took place at Chase Center and Oakland Arena.
Friday kicked off the annual celebrity game, Team Bonds won 66-55. The Rising Stars event took center stage next, with Team C winning the four-team tournament and advancing to play in the All-Star Game on Sunday. On Saturday, Team Cavs won the skills challenge before Tyler Herro won the 3-point contest. Mac McClung made dunk contest history, becoming the first player to three-peat with a series of impressive slams.
The 74th NBA All-Star Game took place Sunday, featuring a new format with four teams competing in the tournament. Team Chuck, Team Shaq and Team Kenny — were drafted by TNT’s “Inside the NBA” analysts, while the fourth, Team Candace, was made up of the Rising Stars game champion.
The tournament included three games: two semifinals and a championship, with each player on the winning team earning $125,000. Second-place players each received $50,000, while those on the third- and fourth-place teams took home $25,000 each. Team Shaq won the title, beating Team Chuck 41-25 in the championship game. Stephen Curry earned Kobe Bryant All-Star Game MVP honors.
