AWS Says Major Outage “Fully Mitigated” as Some Services Still Lag

Cloud giant Amazon Web Services (AWS) announced that the significant outage affecting its US-East-1 region has been “fully mitigated.” WSB-TV Channel 2 – Atlanta+1
The disruption began around 3:11 a.m. ET and impacted core services like Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon SQS and Amazon Connect, with the company attributing it to an internal network issue in its EC2 infrastructure. WSB-TV Channel 2 – Atlanta
While AWS reports that “most service operations are succeeding normally,” users are still reporting slowdowns or throttled requests as systems recover from the backlog. WSB-TV Channel 2 – Atlanta
Major platforms including Snapchat, Roblox, Fortnite, McDonald’s and Coinbase were among those affected.
