NORFOLK, VA — Residents across Norfolk and Hampton Roads are preparing to head to the polls Tuesday, November 3, for an election that will help determine political representation at both the local and national levels.
Virginia voters will have the opportunity to participate in congressional elections and other contests appearing on their local ballots. The results could influence decisions involving public funding, economic development, transportation, education, and other issues affecting communities throughout the Commonwealth.
For Hampton Roads residents, the election comes as local governments continue addressing challenges involving infrastructure, housing affordability, public safety, and regional economic growth.
Election officials are encouraging voters to confirm their polling locations and review their ballots before Election Day.
Polling places throughout Virginia are scheduled to open at 6 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Anyone already in line by 7 p.m. will be allowed to cast a ballot.
Residents should bring an acceptable form of identification or be prepared to complete the state’s identification confirmation process.
Voters can verify their registration status, locate their assigned polling place, and review election information through the Virginia Department of Elections.
With important decisions ahead for the region and the nation, election officials are encouraging eligible residents to participate.
