Toosii Is Taking His Football Talents To Sacramento State

Rapper Toosii is stepping onto a new stage — the football field.

On Sunday, September 14, the North Carolina native announced he’s accepted an offer to play NCAA football at Sacramento State University. Known for hits like Love Cycle and Favorite Song, Toosii (born Nau’Jour Grainger) surprised fans by sharing the news on X, thanking Head Coach Brennan Marion and Coach C.J. Pollard.

The move marks a return to his roots. Before pursuing music full-time, Toosii played high school football in Raleigh and once considered an athletic career. Now, with NCAA name, image, and likeness (NIL) rules opening new opportunities, his crossover from rap star to student-athlete could draw major attention to Sacramento State.

Fans reacted with a mix of admiration and disbelief, praising his humility while questioning how he’ll juggle touring, recording, and Division I football. For Toosii, however, the chance is more than symbolic — it’s a test of faith and determination.

As he put it: “This don’t even feel real.”
