Grammy-winning rapper Cardi B is drawing attention across the hip-hop community after making her debut on NPR’s popular Tiny Desk Concert series.
The Bronx-born superstar delivered an energetic performance released October 19, bringing several of her biggest records into a smaller, more intimate live music setting.
Rather than relying on the elaborate production typically associated with arena performances, Cardi performed alongside a nine-piece band that introduced fresh musical arrangements to her catalog.
The concert featured eight songs performed in approximately 18 minutes, including recognizable hits such as “Bodak Yellow” and “Up.”
She also performed “ErrTime,” a track from her sophomore album, Am I the Drama?
The live instrumentation introduced elements of rock and other musical influences, giving several of her records a different sound from their original studio versions.
Cardi maintained a fast-paced performance, moving between songs with limited interruptions while briefly acknowledging the musicians accompanying her.
The appearance represents another significant moment in her career following the release of Am I the Drama? in 2025.
Since that release, the rapper has continued expanding her catalog with additional singles and major entertainment appearances.
Her Tiny Desk debut also highlights the growing relationship between hip-hop and live performance platforms that emphasize musicianship and stripped-down arrangements.
NPR’s concert series has become a popular destination for established performers and emerging artists seeking to present their music in a different environment.
For Cardi B, the performance offered another opportunity to showcase the personality, delivery and musical versatility that have helped establish her as one of rap’s biggest stars.
Fans can watch the performance through NPR Music’s official platforms.
