  • Don Toliver Could Win Best New Artist Grammy Despite Already Having Five Top 10 Albums

Houston rapper and singer Don Toliver is making headlines after being included among the artists eligible for Best New Artist consideration at the 2027 Grammy Awards, despite already establishing himself as a successful recording artist. Toliver, known for his melodic sound and collaborations with some of hip-hop’s biggest names, is among 331 artists on the entry list for the prestigious award. What makes his inclusion particularly interesting is his impressive track record. Since 2020, Toliver has earned five consecutive top 10 albums on the Billboard 200, including his 2026 project OCTANE, which became his first No. 1 album. The development has sparked discussion about what qualifies someone as a new artist in today’s music industry. Under the Recording Academy’s guidelines, Best New Artist eligibility is not determined solely by how long an artist has been releasing music or how many albums they have recorded. Instead, the Academy considers when an artist achieved a significant breakthrough and whether their work made a major impact during the eligibility period. For the 2027 awards, the Recording Academy also increased the number of times an artist may be submitted for Best New Artist consideration from three to four. Toliver first gained widespread attention through his appearance on Travis Scott’s 2018 song “CAN’T SAY.” Since then, he has developed a successful solo career and built a dedicated audience through projects that combine hip-hop, R&B, and atmospheric production. His inclusion on the Grammy entry list reflects the changing definition of an emerging artist and the increasingly varied paths musicians take toward mainstream recognition. However, being eligible does not guarantee a nomination. Recording Academy members must still vote to determine which artists advance to the final nominee list. Nominations for the 2027 Grammy Awards are scheduled to be announced November 16, with the ceremony taking place February 7, 2027. For Don Toliver, a potential Best New Artist nomination would represent another significant achievement in a career that has already produced multiple chart successes. • Drake Makes Huge Billboard Comeback as HABIBTI Surges 114 Spots to No. 2

    — Drake is proving that his music continues to command attention as his album HABIBTI makes a remarkable return toward the top of the Billboard 200 chart. The Canadian superstar’s project climbed from No. 116 to No. 2 following the release of additional music included in the deluxe edition, FOMO. According to reported chart figures, the album generated approximately 71,000 equivalent album units during the latest tracking period, marking a significant increase in activity. The chart movement represents a 114-position jump and demonstrates Drake’s ability to generate renewed interest in previously released projects. Originally released in May 2026, HABIBTI has continued to attract listeners through streaming platforms and social media. The expanded release gave fans additional material while helping push the album back into the national spotlight. Reports indicate the project has accumulated approximately 553,000 album-equivalent units since its release, making it eligible for Gold certification under Recording Industry Association of America standards. Eligibility does not necessarily mean the album has received official certification. Throughout his career, Drake has built a reputation for consistently performing well on music charts, combining hip-hop, R&B, and melodic production styles that appeal to audiences across multiple genres. His latest chart resurgence adds another achievement to a career that has already included numerous Billboard records, major collaborations, and commercially successful albums. With HABIBTI returning to the upper reaches of the Billboard 200, Drake continues to demonstrate his influence in the competitive music industry. The project’s performance also highlights how deluxe releases and new music can introduce an album to additional listeners months after its initial debut.
