— Actress and singer Serayah has announced the end of her engagement and relationship with rapper Joey Bada$$, publicly alleging that repeated infidelity played a major role in her decision to walk away.
Serayah shared the news on social media Monday, August 24, explaining that she had reached a point where prioritizing herself and her well-being had become necessary. The Empire actress said she had deeply believed in the future she and Joey were building together but ultimately felt she could no longer overlook what she described as a pattern of cheating.
According to Serayah, the alleged infidelity occurred at multiple points throughout their relationship, including during periods she considered especially important and vulnerable. Joey Bada$$ has not publicly responded to the allegations as of the latest reports, and the claims remain Serayah’s account of what happened within their relationship.
The breakup comes after the couple built a family together. Serayah and Joey first met in 2021 and began dating in 2022. They welcomed a son in 2025 and later became engaged that summer.
Serayah also used her announcement to encourage other women to trust their instincts when something doesn’t feel right in a relationship. Rather than presenting the breakup simply as celebrity drama, she framed her decision around maintaining her values and self-respect while moving forward from the relationship.
Following her initial announcement, Serayah briefly shared additional posts online, including a since-deleted video containing what appeared to be a recorded conversation involving Joey and another woman. Serayah suggested the recording supported her concerns about their relationship, although the circumstances surrounding the conversation have not been independently confirmed.
Despite the public breakup, Serayah made it clear that their son remains her priority. She said she intends to protect his privacy and maintain his relationship with both parents, adding that she does not plan to publicly disclose further intimate details about what happened between her and Joey.
